Work in the Tax department is varied and exciting. As the point of contact for all things tax-related, we advise our colleagues across the Group, whether on trade, purchasing, sales, production, real estate, recycling, or administration – nationally and internationally.

We create specialist standards, ensure the consistent application of the law across the Group, and support national and international projects. By doing this, we safeguard against risks, support fiscal optimization, and thereby contribute to the company’s success. One of the areas that we focus on is the digitalization of internal processes, aiming to create capacity for the main tax work through automation and efficiency.

Declaration and Tax Compliance

We prepare the declaration in all areas for several hundred companies ourselves, and are increasingly using digital solutions and tools to do this. Our certified compliance framework makes our work easier both in Germany and abroad.

Tax Advice

The main expertise in the Tax department is provided by our specialist advisers in profit tax, sales tax, income tax, customs, stock prices, trade, production, environment, structural issues, and M&A projects. We are involved in all topics across the Group and high professional demands are made of us.

Country Support

Around 100 employees are employed in our tax departments worldwide, in over 30 countries. We maintain this network, create standards, and ensure a lively exchange of ideas and information at a professional level in order to learn best practices from one another and help each other to develop.

Tax Data Management and Analytics

The digitalization of compliance and the development of a reliable knowledge and data base is intended to make expert knowledge more transparent and reduce existing manual work, creating more time for data analyses. As a result, the role of tax technologist is coming more and more to the fore.

As digitalization continues to progress and legislative changes are brought in to keep up with these advances, it is becoming increasingly important to be able to transfer information to authorities, service providers, and trade partners in digital form. As an international point of contact, we create standards and actively support colleagues in the countries with implementation projects.

M&A Transactions/Expansions

With conventional expansions and with acquisitions, our tax colleagues are involved in the process at an early stage in order to establish the framework conditions and exclude any existing risks. In both cases, the introduction and adaptation of the new parts of the company to the tax standards poses a big challenge.
